Week 20 - Detailed Fetal Scan

Dear Baby,

Mummy and Daddy were so excited today cos we were going to have the detailed scan with you! From the bad experience of the recent Oscar scan, mummy goh became a little scared. Prior to this detailed scan, I had been constantly talking to you everyday, telling you to be in the best position so that we can take a good look at you and your organs, to make sure you are well and healthy.

Love you for listening to me, our Baby Hayley! The sonographer took many pictures and measurements of you and all was well. The only problem she had..you were too active! Flipping here and there. Sometimes lying on your back, sometimes lying on you tummy, sometimes lying on your hand...soooooo cute!

You have grown into a whooping size of 15cm and weighs 350g! No wonder mummy goh seems to have put on a little weight too...

Continue to Grow Grow Grow...my baby! Looking forward to feeling your kicks soon!

Week 13 - Oscar Bad Scar

Dear Baby,

We went for your Oscar scan today. At first you were not in the desired position, you were lying flat on your tummy. How cute! Noob mummy goh didn't know you are turning so much in me! But no matter how cute, this was not the best position for Oscar test, Baby. Mummy goh was instructed to drink more water and eat something sweet, so we left the clinic and bought Mr Bean.

We came back to the clinic with mummy goh's super full bladder and a cooperative baby! I know I have said this many times but you are really cute...Baby! You were moving your hands, as if saying "Hi" to us! We love you so much...Baby!



Dear Baby,

Mummy goh got a call from the Oscar clinic. Your results was not very good. It showed high risk of Down Syndrome............

Baby..........mummy goh was real sad when I heard that. After so many weeks of excitement and happiness that another life is growing inside me, I cannot take such bad news.
Baby.........mummy goh loves you soooooo muchie. I cannot afford to lose you..........
Daddy goh and I know the feeling of losing an unborn child..........and we don't wish to go through the same feeling again........

We were scheduled to see Woody on Thursday evening.
As usual, Woody was very calm.
He thought us not to worry too much.
We could do the Harmony test, which is a 99% accurate blood test.
I told Woody I want to take a look at you again.
Like always, you look sooooooo cute in the ultrasound, Baby.
Even if you are not healthy, I don't think I can bear to lose you.........

The next morning, mummy goh went to Woody again to take the blood test.
My sample will be sent to USA and results will be out 2 weeks later.
I cried day and night, through the weekend.



Dear Baby,

Daddy goh was more rational. He read up on such cases (bad oscar results) and suggested we go for a detailed fetal scan at Dr Ananda's clinic. Dr Ananda specialises in detailed fetal scan. Many mummies go to him too to seek a second opinion. I agreed. I don't think I can wait for that 漫长的 2 weeks for harmony test results to come back.

Finally some happy news, Baby! You look F-I-N-E during the detailed fetal scan! Dr Ananda could not see any physical abnormalities in you and mummy goh's risk factor was brought down drastically! Both of us were so so so happy. We could finally leave for Taipei with a happier mood *sMiLeZ*



Dear Baby,

Though we had gotten a great deal of assurance from Dr Ananda, I was secretly feeling slightly uneasy . I was still anxious to know the results from the Harmony test, that's why I was so jittery whenever an unknown caller called me when we were in Taipei.

Luckily I didn't have to wait too long. On our fourth day in Taipei, I got a call from the clinic that the Harmony Test showed good results and YOU ARE A BABY GIRL! I was soooooooo relieved and happy! Thank God, thank Earth, thank Ocean, thank whichever forces around who have been helping me go through all these and finally giving me such a good piece of news.

Week 10 - I can see you so well today!

Dear Baby,

Hope you had as much fun as mummy goh had in Sydney!

It was time to see Woody again. Woody wanted to make sure you are growing well and mummy goh is liking this assurance he is giving us *sMiLeZ*

Remember during the last few visits to Woody you were just a black dot? This was what Woody and I see on the ultrasound screen today!

Hahahahaha the labels were added in by your dear mummy goh. Baby...I can really make out your head, hands and legs now! How cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute~ You have really grown ALOT! Too bad daddy goh was not around with us at the doc visit. It's ok, we have many chances to see you again in the weeks to come~

Week 9 - Healthy baby is allowed to fly!

Dear Baby,

We went to take a look at you today again. You are growing so fine that Woody allowed mummy goh to go Aussie! Well done baby. Thanks for being so 乖 and giving mummy goh a chance to go travelling with your ah gong, ah ma and 2 ah yis *gRiNz* mummy goh promises you I will take care of you well in Aussie too...whenever I am (you are) tired, we will take a break.

Week 7 - Your little but powerful heart beating!

Dear Baby,

Today we saw you! A tiny 小不点 of only 5mm in length. Woody showed us your heartbeat too. Do you know mummy goh was soooooooo happy to see that little heart beating? It means so much to me!

We told Woody I am bringing you to Aussie 2 weeks later. Doc said I am to come visit him before I fly off. I don't mind...baby! I even ask daddy goh if we can buy an ultrasound machine so that I can see you everytime I want! Of course, as usual, daddy goh thought I am dumb haha...

Week 5 - A Gift From Heaven

My period was late for about 5 days.Since we were supposed to go for drinks with our friends after work, I decided to buy a pregnancy test kit to test if I can drink later.

The result...

Boy...I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!  After a few months of disappointment, I did not have high hopes this time round. I took a photo of the result and whatsapped darling dear. His reaction on Yahoo Messenger was "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Hahahahahahaha I can imagine him smiling crazily in front of his computer at work.

So in the end, no more drinks for me. We will be going to see Woody and Dr Chan tomorrow!



Dear Baby,

We didn't see you at Woody today. Woody said you should still be too small, but he could see my uterus walls getting thicker already. We will come back 2 weeks later to try locate you again.

Dr Chan gave me more assurance. He told me he can feel a 喜脉! He instructed me to continue drinking chicken soup for you to grow healthily!
